Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at her age of nine. The ability to speak two languages allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was hired by her CBS station in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009, she moved away from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reports on her show covered immigration issues as well as drug trafficking and others on the Texas as well as the Mexico border. Also, she was an anchor and Spanish reporter for the newscast at 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter for the newscast of nine p.m. with a reporter and anchor in English and also a Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her more responsibility. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor herself. She was hired as anchor of the sports program by Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. Also, she was anchor of the sports segment in Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She has an elder sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother remarried a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. The summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. As a senior at high school, but knowing exactly what she would like to accomplish in her future, Antonietta went to at the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and that they had the major she was looking for. She graduated from school and was attended the University as a media studies major. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a part. They formed a strong connection. He was the one who boosted her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm in Journalism touched her deeply. She was determined to exceed his expectations always delivering on time.
